Real Time Passenger Information System

Zigbee communication works by creating electromagnetic waves at a source and being able to pick up those electromagnetic waves at a particular destination.These electromagnetic waves travel through the air at near the speed of light.The wavelength of an electromagnetic signal is inversely proportional to the frequency,the shorter the wavelength.In general, signals with longer wavelengths travel a greater distance and penetrate through and around objects better than signals with shorter wavelengths.
In most wireless systems, a designer has two overriding constraints it must operate over a certain distance (range) and transfer a certain amount of information within a time frame (data rate).Then the economics of the system must work out (price) along with acquiring government agency approvals (regulations and licensing).Advances in information and communications technology have enabled the adoption of wireless communication techniques in all sectors for the transmission of information in all forms between any two points.By using zigbee communication to monitor the health of railway wagons attached to a moving locomotive. Wireless communications and distributed computing have promoted the development of vehicle-monitoring systems to reduce the maintenance and inspection requirements of railway systems while maintaining safety and reliability.This project surveys existing wireless techniques used in the railway industry for both communications and real time passenger information purposes.In this there is N no. of compartments the data from the pc is transmitted by using zigbee transmitter to their particular compartments with a unique identification.The transferred data be received from the zigbee receiver and sends to the microcontroller.The microcontroller is interfaced through the 2x16 LCD and the information be displayed in the LCD.Finally we present our project in low-cost, low-power.
